Thankful Thursday-Family

It's been a while since the last time I participated in Thankful Thursday. Hopefully I'll be able to do it again every week, truly we are never out of something to be thankful for.

This week I am grateful for my family - my parents are here with us in the city and will be staying with my sister's family for a while. Thank you that finally they gave in to our request. It is hard for us to visit them so often in the province and we are worried most of the times as they were both old and living alone in our old home. Now I can see them as often as I want to.

I am also very thankful about their health, my father stopped smoking years ago ( so no need to buy him cigar humidors ) and I'm glad he did that. It helped him a lot, he's on medicines but for his age I consider him still healthy. My mother is also doing good, strong and still very much willing to help her children and adores her grandkids to the max. She's also taking meds for sugar maintenance but other than that she's healthy. They're now both on their 70's but still fine. Thank God for that.

Today, we also celebrate a niece birthday. She's my first niece and she's a joy to both her parents and to the whole family. Thankful that she's been given to us :)

I know I did mention here that Selah's first worship album is coming soon and that we are excited and can't wait. We always look forward to recording time. Recording maybe long and tough (specially for first timer like them) but we are all enjoying it at the moment.

But you know, sad things are also happening alongside with our recording, it's been two Sundays now that Rudolf is not seen in the church, so that means he has not been leading the worship for two Sundays now. We are currently on "transition" process (if I can call it that way, we're praying and waiting for God's leading for us in line with our church.

I'm happy though that even if these things are happening, my husband never loses his passion to sing for the Lord. Whatever happens, we will always sing and make music to our Lord for His goodness and mercy never fails :)

As a matter of fact, now that we are resting from the church, he's been honing his music skills and is very eager to learn more (music notes and all that), getting ready for more greater opportunities in serving the Lord. (just a while ago, I showed him this boomerang looper for sale and he said he wants that) he is that eager :)

Will keep you posted about everything and as always..let's keep on praising the Lord!!

I can't wait.

Rudolf with his band mates met the owner of the recording studio last night and they were all overwhelmed. God's favor indeed and we know that it is His will for the band to have this worship album. We've waited enough (eight years) and now is the time.

So they've now their schedule of recording for the month of May, Rudolf will be busy for that and of course I will be supporting him all the way until we see the finish product.

I am also overwhelmed, happy..and it all seems surreal to me..that they will now record all their songs officially.

Please keep on praying for the Selah band, first and foremost for our hearts to keep on looking to Jesus, to seek the Lord everyday, to worship Him and extol Him more than anything else and to serve the Lord through music with gladness.

I already forgot when these pictures were taken but we were just passing along Roxas Boulevard then, we were actually bit late and the sun is already setting down thus it's bit dark na ..sayang we weren't able to capture the even more beautiful Manila Bay sunset if earlier sana..but nonetheless, sunset is and will always be beautiful to me! Amazed by God's beautiful creation!

Volunteers-Our Young People

Our DVBS (Daily Vacation Bible School) for our outreach church will start tomorrow and will last till' Wednesday. This afternoon 12 young people traveled from Manila to Nagcarlan, Laguna ( approximately 3 hours travel time) and will teach at least a hundred kids about Jesus in this year's outreach DVBS :)

We were indeed blessed to have such many young people that have the heart and compassion to reach the lost and share God's love. Young people who serves the Lord and ask nothing in return from the church. I am a witness on how they love to be used in every opportunity and every chance they might be useful. Thank you Lord.

And oh how I wish to bless them also in return for their hard work and dedication, for their obedience and teachable hearts.

Most of them are our scholars and I really pray we could continue to support their studies this coming school year. Two of them are graduating college students :) both are taking IT (and most likely jhave some knowledge about ITIL. Some of them are only high school students and are being use by the Lord mightily. Thank you lord for giving our church such compassionate young people. Please keep them safe.

see that big bulky monitor? we still bring that to our worship events. The first time we did that I tried to laugh it off and whispered a prayer, Lord bless us a new laptop soon :) Our church is generous enough to let us use the old projector ( not a samsung projector )and the screen for now but someday we plan to buy one for the band also. But with or without those gadgets and technologies, we will worship and we will keep on spreading the fire all over the nations! God bless everyone!

Ministry Updates

WORSHIP TEAM : SELAH

We are indeed blessed and overwhelmed to what God is doing to this ministry, not only through conducting worship events and leading worship but also teaching about worship. Rudolf was invited to speak in a seminar yesterday and again on June, we will be in the Visayas Region again to lead worship in a Prayer conference and Rudolf will also speak about worship (to which I am so nervous about). I really can't believe that my husband can do that (teaching) but thanks be to God who gives him wisdom.

There are also scheduled worship events on May and we are praying for the album recording and for more open door opportunities for the band.

FISHNETS MINISTRY

There is an ongoing Vacation Bible School for the kids this week and there will be another one again on the first week of may, we will also have Summer Reading Camp next month, this aims to help the kids who have difficulty in reading so they'll be able to catch up in the next school year.

We also talked about reviving the pedicab ministry (feeding/teaching of the pedicab drivers) and was supposed to be every Wednesday lunch. I felt that this ministry is a great tool to introduce the Lord to them and of course hopefully they in turn will bring their whole family to the Lord.

Scholarships- there are many young people who approached me and asked me if they can apply for scholarship grants and God knows I wanted to help them all. This year, again we are taking a big step of faith as we aim to have at least 5 college and 5 high school scholars. It's big specially in terms of finances but we also have a big GOD, I'm sure He will provide for these scholars.

To raise funds for them, we will have a dinner concert for a cause on June 1, please include this also in your prayers.

PERSONAL

With the new ministry (SELAH) that the Lord has opened up for me and my husband and the band, I felt I needed to leave my day job ( most of the time, we go out of town and I have to leave work for a week or two) I think it is unfair for the company I work for. I'm still asking God for the courage (am so afraid of not having a job and not receiving salary on a regular basis) and when I do leave this job, we have to leave the place we are currently staying so that means we have to go somewhere and rent again and where will I get the money if I don't have a regular job? Stuff like that scares me a lot and I know I still have to learn to TRUST HIM fully. I also covet your prayers for that aspect, that I maybe able to obey the Lord without hesitations and that my heart will trust Him that He will provide for our every need.

We've actually inquired of houses to rent outside Metro Manila for the rent is cheap there but we have yet to actually see them for ourselves, a small house in a quiet community (I'm not even looking for one with residential steel garage after all it's only our motorbike who'll need a parking space)is what we are looking for. But I don't know yet if until when I will be able to hold on to this job..although I feel I'm letting go and letting GOD sooner.

LJBC's DVBS 2012 "ONE WAY"

Our church's annual Daily Vacation Bible School started today, and sad to say that I wasn't there because I have work. I missed the opening day but I hope I can attend the graduation day on Friday, this year our theme is "ONE WAY" and the materials and manuals came from Child Evangelism Fellowship.

We prepared for one hundred kids from 5 to 14 years old but I have yet to get the actual number of kids that showed up. I'm making all the certificates for them on their graduation day.

This year marks the most number of teachers and assistants we have, I guess it's the result of several trainings from the past and the fire from the youth camp is still burning thus the number of youth volunteers increased.

I'm sure I'll be sharing again lot's of photos here. For the meantime, please pray that this vacation bible school will really bring change in the kids life and that this will be an agent for them to follow God. Gotta go now, I'm off from the office work but I'll check this beautiful kitchen compost bin over the net :) God bless you all!!!

LJBC Youth camp 2012

Sorry for the long absence of posts here. We were out of town for number of days, I have no internet access for quite sometime and was held up for work last week

But I've got loads of pictures to share from the youth camp last April 1-4. Truly, to see these young people come before the Lord is more than the rewards we the organizer can get. The efforts we all put together was not wasted and we were all the more encouraged to do it again next year. We have 60 campers from 5 LJBC outreaches from which many have shown exemplary leadership skills. I believed REVIVAL has set in was and carried on to their churches. We were pleased to know that the weekend after the camp, the youth conducted prayer and worship in thier churches and they were all on fire! Praise God!!

Sure we didn't teach them how to repair leather but we hoped they learned a lot better than that, lessons that will guide them and help them as they continue to walk in the Lord :) We had 5 teaching sessions to cover the theme G-for Give, L for Load , O for Obey, R for Redeem and Y for Yes Lord! (G.L.O.R.Y) it is also a preparation for the mission's camp next year! those who said Yes Lord this year will be in a mission exposure next year!! We are all excited for that!

Grateful. Leaving tomorrow

Thank you Lord for sustaining my strength :)

My husband and I have been very busy lately, just one week after the Prayer conference in Cebu and we are again leaving tomorrow for a four day youth camp of our church.

Aside from the ministry work, I have a day job which occupies my time on weekdays, this week was super busy, I've been staying later than usual in the office and then staying up late for my work at home job, not to mention the t-shirt printing we did this week. Don't get me wrong though because I am not complaining in fact I am thankful that even if my body is tired my spirit is not.

Thank you Lord that even in the midst of chaos I can hear you and spend time with you :)

Even when I am swamped with papers and documents (spread all over my table) and my mind is working non-stop, (at least I don't review gps because it's not my forte) ...anyways..I am thankful that .in between breaks (even washroom break) I can hear His still small voice and HE shows me my errors before the boss got to see it! :D Thank you Lord talaga.

Yes, we are leaving tomorrow (later actually) and I haven't pack a thing yet, the camp will actually commence on Sunday afternoon but we will be the advance party so we're leaving one day earlier. We're taking a bus so that would mean at least 2 hours sleep or rest :) A total rest I must say.. when you have to do nothing but just sit and stare at the window or sleep. Because for me, for the past few weeks, most of the time rest means sitting in front of the PC, writing, updating pages (I manage 3 FB pages), searching, emailing, posting pictures, and so an and so forth.

But I am (we are) excited for this year's youth camp. I am sure God will do great things for the young people and their lives will be use mightily by the Lord,

Musical Instruments-Blessings

In a span of one month, the Lord has blessed the band so much, indeed He only wants us to take that step of faith. Neil our keyboardist was able to have that module for his keyboard. Michael, our bassist has new 6 string bass guitar! And now we are praying for a drumset for Ramon, maybe a second hand will do, he doesn't care that much if it's a Dynasty Percussion brand or not but as long as it is something he can bring to our events.

The SELAH band started the worship events just last February and we are all amazed how God has been blessing us, both of spiritual and material blessings. Our Cebu trip is one proof that God is faithful and is our great provider.

But guess what, more than the material blessings, what makes my heart jump for joy are the feedbacks and comments of people we doesn't even know, people who worshiped with us, to hear that they really felt the move of the Holy spirit and that they were able to worship and experience God during worship time is more than enough for us to continue what we are doing.

Thank you Lord!!!

We're back from Cebu and we're all happy and blessed with what God has done in the prayer conference. Indeed, it is a privilege to serve God and be able to lead worship gathering of the anointed ones- the pastors, intercessors, ministry leaders and missionaries.

Once again, thank you for praying for us and supporting us. May the Lord return all the favor to all of you a hundred fold.

Prayer Conference

I'm coveting your prayers :) My dear husband will speak in a worship event "a night of worship" on Friday. Last week, it was our good friend Andrew who spoke and he did well, my husband is very used to leading worship but not to speaking or exhorting so God bless him. :) I'm actually is more nervous than him. I can feel butterflies in my tummy specially now that it's only 2 more days. I feel like I've taken lovegra.hehe! But I know I should not be worried right? I trust God to give him wisdom and anoint him as he speaks..

However, it will help me if you'd say you'll say a prayer for him :)

The JESUS FESTIVAL 2012

Every year, our church participates in this once a year event that happens during holy week and organized by Pastor Rommel Guevarra and his team . This year it will be on April 4-5 from 6PM to 6AM. Venue is at The Wharf Tent in Muntinlupa City.

We look forward to being with other worshipers again and to witness the power of God displayed in corporate worship. Come and join us, let us CELEBRATE the FINISHED work of JESUS!!

A night of worship

I just want to give God the glory for the first of the 3 series "night of worship" of the Selah band. It was held in our church in Makati and we were really amazed by God's presence even before the band started singing. True enough, people were led to worship and praises and everyone was overwhelmed by God's wonderful presence.

Two more "night of worship" for this month and then the conference in Cebu on the 22nd to 23rd.Thank you Lord that you are letting us soar now, please help us as we do the mandate that you have given us. To proclaim your goodness, to lead people to profound worship through music and prayer and to glorify your name!

And to my readers, please cover us with your prayers as we take this big leap of faith this year.

Two Sundays ago, I, together with my two lady friends was invited by the youth leaders to attend their one of a kind LCM (Love, Courtship and Marriage) teaching/seminar. We were asked to just tell our own love stories and then answer questions from them afterwards. Of course, each story is worth telling and from each story a lesson is to be learned. The topic actually is “waiting” and for some youth it can be the hardest part but if you wait for God’s best you’ll surely say it’s worth it.

Anyways, at the end of the session I told them how everything will be beautiful if they will just learnt o wait for the right time, God is definitely writing each and everyone’s love story and it is undoubtedly beautiful! I also mentioned that even their wedding will be nice and perfect if they will learn how to wait for God’s best. Sure there will be glitches but still people will only notice how beautiful they are and how eminent is the love they have for each other.

They may not even have the best engagement rings that was designs by vatche which is by the way available in Whiteflash.com, or maybe they might not even have rings at all but as I have said many times, happiness does not depend on what you have and what you have not. My wedding (and my rings) are so ordinary but I don’t care. What matters tome and to my husband is that when we got married, it was not just us but the presence of the Lord and the love is so present during our wedding and even years after the wedding.

I’m not saying we’re perfect and we don’t fight because that would be a big LIE ( every married couple knew that fight/disagreement is normal) but it doesn’t mean that when you argue you don’t love each other anymore and that you made a mistake in marrying your partner :)

I just hope, the youth learned some wisdom about love, courtship and marriage during that session. After all it was not easy sitting there, telling them your painful mistakes while waiting, the heartaches you’ve gone through and be bombarded with questions afterwards :) I pray they will really wait for the God’s perfect time and for God’s best for them.

Who knows they might even get one of these lovely rings when that big day comes? This was a fund raising drive initiated by the youth of our church. I enjoyed it (most participants did) so I encouraged our youth leaders to do it again this coming March. The proceeds will be use in the upcoming youth camp on April.

We also and short devotion before heading home. My husband and I had breakfast after and visited the feeding ministry also. It was one full but happy Saturday :)

Turning 1

This cute little girl is turning ONE soon! It seems only yesterday when we and her parents held her for the first time. Now, it's only four months and we will celebrate her first birthday with a blast.

This girl is special first to her parents and to people who love her (that would include me and my husband) so we're making her birthday extra special :) I'm sure she'll have many personalized 1st birthday gifts. And I'm sure the mom will be happy..hehe!

We love you baby Ziah and like what we often say to Kuya Jakob..don't grow too fast :)

Feeding Ministry

After the Run for a cause fundraising activity of the youth last Saturday, I had the chance to visit our feeding ministry in Pio Delpilar Makati. It's been a while since I last visited an area and I'm glad I did last Saturday. I took some photos and had a chat with the kids :) I pray these little ones will grow in the love of God and that they will have a much better life in the future.

That's Jomer - he heads the feeding in that area.

It is also so good to see that we only not feed the kids but moms as well :) the food is more than enough for them. Thank you Lord for providing!

Our feeding ministry in this area is now on it's 2nd year. We've already established a bible study for mothers and more than 5 families are now attending church. Praise the Lord and to God be the glory!!!
